A little blurred as I was in a hurry to take the picture, and my phone won't do it silently. Another taxi driver who doesn't wear his seat belt! These people have a clip on the side to prevent the belt from going back in, then drape it artistically over themselves to seem as if they have one on; but it's NOT actually buckled!!. 30062008062 shimmertje posted a photo:

My new phone, the Nokia N81 8GB. I miss my Nokia N7390. I prefer the colour (pink), the camera (3 vs 2 megapixel, and autofocus to boot), and the operating system of the previous phone.. The Nokia N81 8GB shimmertje posted a photo:

Wrapping burgers up in egg.

Making Ramly burgers at the night market: burgers are fried on the grill, then folded into a paper-thin layer of egg to make a parcel that's placed between toasted burger buns. BBQ sauce, chilli sauce and mayonnaise are usually added to the burger first. Ramly burgers used to come with some raw veg but with the economy the way it is, it's just the egg and the burger now. Around S$2.50.. n81 103 shimmertje posted a photo:

Digitally zoomed: convex mirror fixed to the side mirror of the taxi. It's supposed to help you with blind spots and parking, but I don't know how to use one.. n81 091 shimmertje posted a photo:

Adding a slice of processed cheese, roughly one-third of a square. I'm sure the cheese used to be larger in the past.

Note the cook is wearing one plastic glove. The hand with the glove is theoretically used to handle food, and the one without for handling everything else.. Making Ramly burgers at the night market shimmertje posted a photo:

This is common technology in Singapore carparks. The red lights that you see above each car tell you that the lot is occupied (a green light means it's vacant); you also see how many lots are vacant at each floor, and sometimes even where they are.

It was after 7 when we arrived, and the first three floors were already full. By the time we'd had dinner, 9pm, the entire carpark was full. That's what you get for parking next to the Ministry of Sound, still one of the hotter night spots in Singapore, on a Friday night :)

CK told me today (30th) that the carpark lights don't always work. Aargh.. Useful carpark technology, or everyone's going clubbing shimmertje posted a photo:

Eating at Ayam Penyet Ria: My empal penyet set, or smashed beef set. Shredded beef, a deep-fried slice of tempeh, a bit of veg, some cucumber with chilli sauce on it, a topping of cereal, and rice. S$6.50.

Penyet dishes are typically Indonesian and refer to the smashing of the meat. Ayam penyet is smashed fried chicken, hit with a mallet so that it comes off the bone more easily. Empal penyet refers to beef chunks smashed so that the fibres are mostly separated.. Trying out penyet dishes shimmertje posted a photo:
